Mick and Christine

Christine was brought up with dogs, her father having his first Guide Dog, a Boxer a year before she was born. Upon leaving school she trained as a Veterinary Nurse where she worked for eleven years, until she had Adrian.
The family’s first breed, a Cardigan Corgi was purchased in 1990, when Adrian and Russell were five and three and the family joined the Jersey Junior Handlers Association and Christine was the Association’s Secretary for 11 years. As well as taking an active role in training classes, she has undertaken numerous roles for the Association and has been made an Honorary Life Member.
Having bought a second Cardigan Corgi the family’s interests turned to the Cesky Terrier of which the first, Flyte arrived in 1998, followed by Ces in 2000. Taking on Ripple, Minstrel and Rolo from Di in 2004, this was preceded a few days earlier with the new addition of Taj. The family currently owns five Cesky Terriers.
Mick became involved with the dog world when the family joined the JJHA and was heavily involved with the setting up of the Team Match and as the established ‘taxi’ to judges, officials and visitors. He has also done any maintenance work needed and moving of equipment.
Mick has also been known to help out in the show ring whenever an extra hand is required! but now he is regularly seen with Flyte.
As well as invovlement in the dog world, Mick and Christine both help run the 2nd Greve d’Azette Scout Group and also the Scout Band for the island.
