Flyte’s pedigree name hails from the French footballer, Zidane who scored two goals in the 1998 World Cup Final, which was on at the time he was born.
Flyte arrived in the Island as a surprise for Adrian in August 1998 and joined our family including two Cardigan Corgis.
He is not only shown but takes part in agility and obedience and has passed his Silver Good Citizen Award.
At six months old Flyte was mated to Ripple and produced ‘Minstrel’, the first Channel Island bred Cesky.
Flyte has had numerous best of breed wins and group placings at open shows and has been in the cards at all the championship shows he has attended. He has qualified for Crufts every year. Unfortunately Foot and Mouth prevented us from showing in 2001 and then in 2002 his breeder was judging! When he could finally be shown in 2003, he won his class under Swedish judge, Dan Ericsson.
In 2002, he managed to get on the green carpet at Crufts in the Young Kennel Club stakes final, having won the qualifying heat and was placed 3rd in the final! Not bad considering he is a rare minority breed.
